What does this code mean on my 300348 48V Sigma controller mean?
This article will explain the codes and causes on your sigma drive controller
# followed by H / On Controller is functioning and showing the hour meter. When code (P) is showing it is displaying that the speed switch is pressed in and the unit is in slow speed mode.
F1 Handbrake switch closed. Release Handbrake.
F2 Battery voltage ‘becoming’ too low. Charge batteries or check its condition and connections. Also check your charger fuses
F3 Not used.
F4 Battery voltage ‘becoming’ too high. Reduce braking levels or vehicle speed. The charger is over charging the batteries and not shutting off replace charger or controller has gone bad.
F5 Thermal foldback. Allow motor to cool, operate vehicle within specification. The motor is getting hot allow the unit to cool down for 30 Minutes with the key off before attempting move
F6 Controller over-temperature. Allow controller to cool and check drive train. The controller is getting hot allow the unit to cool down for 30 Minutes with the key off before attempting move.
F7 Out-of-Range programming. contact your service agent controller requires reflash or controller is bad.
F8 Default settings restored after re-flash. Cycle power. Main Error (corrupt memory all setting returned to factory)
F9 Internal memory error. Contact Service Agent. Controller requires reflash or controller is bad.
F10 Direction selection error - both Fwd and Rev selected. Check direction switch operation and connections. Possible potentiometer error or has gone bad check the wiper on the potentiometer.
F11 Seat or Tiller switch not closed. Check switch operation and connections. Estop is pressed in or wire has come out of the estop block.
F12 Sequence error - the Footswitch or Direction switch is operated at power-up. Check switch operation and connections. center the potentiometer to 2.48kΩ, if error persists check the wiper on the potentiometer.
F13 Accelerator deflected at power-up. Check Accelerator operation and connections. Center the potentiometer to 2.48kΩ
F14 Ride-on - forbidden input selected (Fwd, Rev, FS, Seat, Handbrake), when inching the vehicle. Walkie - drive is attempted without releasing the belly switch after time-out period has passed.
F15 Internal 12 V supply too low. Check peripherals and battery. Battery extremely low plug charger in and let unit fully charge. Also, check the charger fuses. If error persists the controller may be bad.
F16 Not used.
F17 Battery voltage too low. Charge battery or check its condition and connections. Battery extremely low plug charger in and let unit fully charge. Also, check the charger fuses.
F18 High-side MOSFET error in neutral or while pulsing. Check motor insulation and line contactor. If error persists, contact Service Agent. Replace the controller and contactor.
F19 Low-side MOSFET error while pulsing. Check motor insulation. If error persists, contact Service Agent. Send controller in for testing controller and/or motor need to be replaced.
F20 Motor over-current. Check programming of motor parameters. Send controller in for testing controller and/or motor need to be replaced.
F21 Contactor coil error. Check contactor coil(s) and connections. Unit is too low on charge to pull the contactor in, charge the unit and check charger fuses.
F22 Battery voltage too high. Reduce braking levels or speed. Feather throttle so the unit does not over speed.
F23 Low-side MOSFET error in neutral. Check motor insulation and line contactor. If error persists, contact Service Agent. Send controller in for testing controller and/or motor need to be replaced.
F24 Controller error or line contactor coil error. Check line contactor coil. If error persists, contact Service Agent. Unit is too low on charge and/or the contactor has gone bad and needs to be replaced.
F25 Contactor error. Check coil(s) & contacts. Unit is too low on charge and/or the contactor has gone bad and needs to be replaced.
F26 Controller error. Contact Service Agent. Unit is too low on charge and/or the contactor has gone bad and needs to be replaced.
F27 Low-side MOSFET error before line contactor has closed. Check motor insulation and line
contactor. If error persists, contact Service Agent. Accessory active at start up make sure the Air compressor is off, lift and horn switch are clear then turn the unit on and test again. if error persists horn switch, lift switch, or the air compressor needs to be replaced.
F28 Wig-Wag wire off detected. Check pot. wiring on Connector A pins 8, 9 and 16. Controller does not see the potentiometer, check middle harness from the handle bar to the frame of the unit and replace if necessary. If code persists then the potentiometer may have gone bad and needs to be replaced.
F29 CAN error. A CAN node is not responding. Check all nodes and their connections.
F30 Over-speed or encoder error. Check encoder programming value 4.3 Number of Teeth and
ensure that 4.8 Motor Speed Maximum is higher than 1.4 Maximum Forward Speed and 1.5. The encoder and/or motor needs to be replaced. contact your service agent.
